Tears in the burbs
I am overcome with emotion.
I just visited the new Fairway supermarket in Stamford, CT! http://www.fairwaymarket.com/stamford.html
I know what you're thinking....how sad is your life that you can get this emotional over a supermarket?
This is no supermarket. This IS going to change my life. In fact, this is the best thing that's happened to me in the burbs.
One of the worst things about living in the burbs was the lack of good gourmet/international/varied foods available and the close second was having to drive to four different places for different things on my grocery shopping list. Stew's for fruits and veggies, Pagano's for fish, Costco's for household products...etc.
Well those days are over baby!
Fairway is heaven! In one place you get:
Beautiful and varied organic fruits and veggies
A huge selection of meat and fish
50 different kinds of coffee beans
Fresh, handmade pastas from NYC
An olive oil bar
A baking good sections that's huge
Cookies from France
Cheese galore!
A fresh bakery
A sushi bar
and all of your household products both main stream and environmentally friendly.
My friends who saw me upon my return from this trip to heaven didn't recognize me I was so overcome with happiness.
But this is a life changing event. This is the best thing that's happened to me in the burbs. I get a little piece of home just 20 minutes away and I'm going to drastically cut down on my driving. The cherry on the cake is that it's Fairway without the pushy New York attitude. What more can a city girl in the burbs ask for?
I don't ever recall bursting into tears in a supermarket but I came pretty darn close today.
